Understanding Your Human Design Type: Projector
Your design type is arguably the most important aspect of your Human Design is your energy type. There are five energy types in Human Design: Generator, Manifesting Generator, Manifestor, Projector, and Reflector. You can think of the energy types kind of like astrological signs, or enneagrams.
Your energy type indicates how you’re supposed to interact with the world energetically.
Hey Projector!
Projectors are the “course correctors” of the world! You have a unique abitily to the things in the world in a way that others can’t. You are aware of things that need tweaked, or improved, and then are able to offer guidance and bring efficiency.
Don’t try to “keep up” with the rest of the world, or “hustle”. Projectors are non-energy types in Human Design, meaning that you don’t have a motor center to create your own energy, therefore you absorb and amplify the energies in your environment.
You are here to see, not do. The best use of your precious Projector energy is to recognize the strengths and niches that come easy to you and light you up, and indulge yourself in studying those further! You are designed to work full steam 2-3 hours a day, and then spend the rest of your day learning, cultivating, and observing. If that sounds lazy, it’s not! You are uniquely gifted at managing your time and resources efficiently, and therefore you don’t need as much time to complete your work as most people.
Honor your need for rest and downtime. If you’re feeling overwhelmed or burnt out, it’s probably because you have committed too much to what’s “going wrong” around you, or feel micromanaged (a Projectors worst nightmare!)
Because of their gift of managing time and resources, Projectors are considered the new CEO’s of the planet (a role historically taken by the Human Design type Manifestors). Their ability to execute tasks efficiently and guide others to do the same, leaves more room in the Collective’s schedule for free time. There’s no hustle and grind in a world lead by Projectors!
Strategy: Wait for Invitation
In HD, “strategy” is the way each type’s aura is designed to move throughout the world and interact with others.
Wait for Invitation
Projectors living in alignment (following your Strategy and Authority) are meant to be recognized and invited into important collaborations, like work and relationships, by someone who appreciates their unique gifts and provided them with energy and support. When Projectors wait for invitation to opportunities they are allowed to guide effectively.
This doesn’t mean you have to sit on your hands and do nothing unless someone invites you! Surround yourself with people willing to receive your wisdom, this is an energetic invitation to live your design! But, if you find yourself in between opportunities to guide and share, lean into the part of you that loves to learn! This creates an energy in your aura for others to come find you and ask for you guidance!
One challenge for Projectors is to avoid giving unsolicited advice. When you share your wisdom without being invited, it’s not going to have the same effect as if you were invited to do so.
Signature: Success
In HD, your “signature” is your energetic system’s way of communicating when you are in alignment (alignment=following your strategy and authority).
Projectors feel successful when they’re living in alignment. They are supported, their gifts are recognized and appreciated, and trust in the flow of life, instead of trying to “keep up”. Projectors feel the strongest sense of success when they are recognized for their talents.
Not Self Theme: Bitterness
In HD, your “not self theme” is your energetic system’s way of communicating when something is not in alignment with you. It is a way to alert you with a feeling when something is “off” or not for you.
Projectors feel bitter when they’re out of alignment. If you find yourself focusing too much on what’s going wrong, and asking questions like “why can’t they just do it this way, what’s wrong with them?”, you’re not in alignment. Projectors can also feel bitter when they are not attracting recognition.
